    Workshop Outline
 
In order to minimize lecture time, you will be expected to study theory before class each night  to maximize hands-on time. Study will be done online by WiFi, so a laptop is essential. Study materials will be emailed well before the start dates to give you time for advance study. The earlier you register the longer you will have to absorb the information.  This will improve your learning experience. Hand tools and a multi-meter will be needed in the shop.

Workshop activities will be split between three topics:
 
  1. Theory of all major appliances
  2. Hands-on training on each appliance
  3. All aspects of operating your own business.
 
Hands-on instruction will be broken into the study of systems within each type of appliance.  Once you understand how each system works, the whole thing begins to make sense. For instance, understanding a drain or heating system.
 
Each will be discussed and then you will get a chance to work on that specific appliance and see the systems in action. You will practice diagnosing every popular design including exotics. 

We are keenly aware that all mechanics have trouble with electrical diagnosis and circuit analysis. Mastering that specific skill is a primary goal of every workshop. 

Class will begin at 8:45, but early workshop time will be available at 7:30 for extra practice. Also, for additional practice, the workshop will be  open the Saturday between weeks of class .

Significant time will be dedicated to maximization and localization of individual business websites. Individual one-on-one time will be set aside for this task.
